Unfortunately, it seems as if they are unwilling to listen to reason. I'd hoped to avoid all the unpleasantness that will be coming of their hasty actions. Oh well...

You're not alone in the need to distance. Due to what I am and having certain connections, taking an obvious role in this matter would definitely cause problems in the near future.
