Brother! What's the meaning of this?!

[Solomon comes into view of the camera, his fierce eyes zeroing in to the fact that he's being recorded]Amshel! You better not have touched a hair on Saya's head, or so help me...!

[He takes a deep breath, and forces his features to compose themselves. Slowly, his mouth twists into a polite assured smile.] No, you don't have her, do you? If you did, I have no doubt that you'd have been sure to let me know. You were never one to be light handed in your punishments.

Might I remind you that Diva gave me leave to go, Brother. I won't be subject to your experiments like Karl was...

[His voice comes out a soft warning growl.]Answer me!

If it is an abduction then I've been captured as well.

Though, 'abduction' is probably rather accurate. However, your captors are not who you think they are.

You are in the City. An unfortunate name but the correct one all the same. You have been brought here by the deities and will stay here until they decide you can leave.

[His voice is wary, skeptical.] Who are these... deities, as you call them? And why have I been targeted?

These deities are being more powerful than any of us here and run things. They invoke curses upon us every few days and some people have the courage to try making deals with them.

As for why...well, if I knew the answer to that then I'd know why I'm here too. Sadly, that is not the case.

We are pretty much free to do as we please. We simply cannot leave this place. Your first question I don't have a known answer for but mine is no.

Freely. Own your own home, shop, love, work, so on. The living and the dead. It's quite remarkable actually.

There have been a few threats. And our 'captors' do speak every once in awhile.

I haven't seen them but the communicate with these devices. Every so often they announce Warden nominations or where to get vaccines or other random details. It depends.

I am! In fact, I used to live in Paris. Quite some time ago. More recently I have been living in New Orleans.

I was in Paris in the 1700s and I have watched New Orleans grow all the way until the 1990s.
