".... simply remarkable. Anywhere else but here, and I would have pronounced you dead on arrival. Injuries like that... it's just not possible." The doctor shakes his head in amazement and after jotting a few notes on the clipboard at the foot of his patient's hospital bed, he turns and leaves.
The heart monitor beeps steadily in the background of the dimly lit room, competing with the sound of the ventilator hooked up to help Solomon Goldsmith breathe. Above his head, a clock softly ticks away the minutes as the feed captures every sound of the ICU, and after a few moments a woman's voice announces the end of visiting hours.
As if in response, Solomon's body reacts, his hand twitching first... then his eyes flying open as he begins to choke on the tube going down his throat. The sound of the heart monitor races and his body thrashes as he reaches up in confusion to rip at the various tubes coming out of his body.
[ooc: naturally, text in blue is some misc. npc doctor at the City Hospital. Solomon was mortally wounded by one of the Golden Army's warriors managing to impale him on his hand weapon thing... aaaaand a few days later he's finding himself awake and feeling a LOT better (due to his secret Chiropteran natural healing) /story synopsis.]

[After a moment, he rolls over, weakly reaching out in an attempt to pull out the power cords of the various machinery around him.]

Re: [video]
Date: 2010-06-12 12:20 am (UTC)[There's a sharp tone in his voice. He's heard the doctor's words, but there's no conclusive evidence to suggest Solomon can continue to heal on his own.]

Date: 2010-06-11 07:03 pm (UTC)When everything started going crazy she panicked and plastered herself against the back wall to be out of the way of whatever doctors or nurses might come rushing in.
[Action]
Date: 2010-06-11 10:29 pm (UTC)She began skirting around the nurses, missing Rain's presence in the upheaval and in her own gripping fear. Rain though definitely couldn't miss just how authoritative the voice issuing from the young woman was, even as she disappeared around the other side of Solomon's bed and was blocked by the grouping of nurses attending to him.
"Try to get the IVs out before he hurts himself again." One of the nurses moved to argue and then stopped quickly for whatever reason.
Saya's voice turned softer. "Solomon... calm down. It's alright. Don't pull on the rest of those, give the nurses a chance to take them out..."

Date: 2010-06-11 10:51 pm (UTC)"Clear the room," she gently told the visitors as she opened her path by the crowd of nurses. "Please, stay outside while we restrain him."
Re: [Action]
Date: 2010-06-11 11:37 pm (UTC)Still for the first time, she found a tiny bit of hope emerging.

Date: 2010-06-11 11:46 pm (UTC)"No... no more. I don't need to be intubated again... surely you can see that..."
Re: [Action]
Date: 2010-06-11 11:51 pm (UTC)She hadn't killed him or had to watch him die as she'd had to watch so many of the little ones die.
[Action]
Date: 2010-06-11 11:58 pm (UTC)She flustered, doing her best to grasp at equilibrium in her emotions. She had never been very good at that though. It was always one side or the other with Saya. "If you try... just please don't. Let me try to calm him down, please." Would he hurt them? Solomon wouldn't normally but...
She had never knew less about Chiropteran nature than she did right now. What would she do if he did start lashing out?
Then she picked up crying. She turned her gaze to Solomon but naturally he wouldn't be.
Looking about the room, she only then managed to catch sight of Rain. Her expression shifted from fear and pleading to one of sadness. She had no idea who she was exactly, save some vague recollection of those brief days in the 'brothel', but she had never liked tears in other people.
Re: [Action]
Date: 2010-06-12 12:03 am (UTC)People shouldn't be looking at her anyway, unless it was to shame or punish her for her part in hurting the doctor.
Re: [Action]
Date: 2010-06-12 03:59 am (UTC)"Stop," she told a nurse who was about to inject a sedative in the UV. Hoping the rest of the staff would insist the visitors hours were over and escorted them out, Lilith approached to the bedpost to talk to him. He was conscious and able to converse. They had no time to tests if he knew his capacity.
"What do you need to feel better, Doctor Solomon? You can hear me. Answer, please."
[Action]
Date: 2010-06-13 01:58 am (UTC)"... I just need some quiet." His eyes turned to shoot an irritated look around at the various hospital staff. "And leave the machinery off, please. It's giving me a headache..."
