[Solomon steps back so the recording device can clearly show him standing there holding a violin and bow delicately in one hand. His brow is creased, and a slight frown of discontent and frustration graces his features.]

Is there a skilled luthier in the city? There seems to be something wrong with my violin... allow me to demonstrate the problem.

[He lifts the instrument and places it under his chin; his fingers wrapping around the fingerboard to press the strings down and begins to draw the bow across the strings. But the melodious sound that one might expect to hear doesn't occur. Instead, the notes that he plays are grating, the song (if one could even call it that) discordant and it's tone as if a cat is being tortured.

The doctor frowns again, and with an apologetic look withdraws the violin to rest by his side once again.]

See? That's the problem. Clearly it needs to be repaired, the sound is completely off. Nathan would be horrified...

[ooc: I'm a Professional Curse: Professional Musician/Violinist. Sadly, Solomon doesn't know a thing about actually playing one....]

Was a demonstration wholly necessary?

Well, how else would the full gravity of the situation be realized?

At the cost of being obvious? By simply asking for help.

It doesn't look like it needs a repair.

You must not be a musician. If you were one, you'd understand why a demonstration was completely necessary.

I wouldn't risk damage to my reputation unless the situation was most dire...

Are you deaf? Of course it does. Didn't you just hear the horrid sound it's now producing?

That doesn't always mean it's broken, you know.

... well it's not the acoustics. I've practiced at home before and it never sounded like this before. And I know it's not the strings. I only purchase the best. My fans would notice if I didn't.

Today isn't your day for playing, then.

I've never found it to be a necessary skill, no.

How many do you think will flock to your demonstration?

Try looking it up in the yellow pages. You'll find plenty of useful information there. [Like how to find some music lessons]

Yellow pages? Here? You must be kidding me. That's what addressing the network like this is for, right?

You best outfit Marishka with earplugs before pursuing this hobby any further.

But if you looked up the information yourself, your reputation would have been preserved. What if a fan were to hear that demonstration? They would all be so disappointed, right?

Marishka loves my serenades. Well, perhaps not with this defective thing, but otherwise, yes.

And Luke, I'm hurt. This is hardly a hobby.

... my fans will understand this isn't me. Clearly it's the instrument that's at fault.

I really should just throw it away... buy something that won't fall apart so easily...

I suppose a few of my more fanatical fans will find something to appreciate in even this. But I need to have it repaired before my concert tomorrow. Do you happen to know of anyone that you could recommend?

My other violins seem to be missing.

... it's sounds like you're murdering the poor thing.

Well, that's a harsh assessment. After all, it isn't me. Even Paganini would be hard pressed to get a decent sound out of this violin.

Actually... I don't think the problem is with the instrument.

Throw it away? How insensitive. A musician doesn't give up on his instrument so easily.

Eh... that's some faith you have there. That's sad for the instrument though. Poor thing.
