89th Devotion: Drumming up the Ranks

Due to recent departures in the City, the ARTEMIS Organization is currently seeking individuals with skills in research, investigation, and archival work to fill our ranks. We are an open minded group, willing to utilize any skill set whether in medicine, science, or magic, and even have a few entry level positions for those wishing to learn.

That being said, one of my employees, a Harold Saxon, hasn't shown up for work in some time yet his portrait hasn't shown up in the Hall of the Missing. His last post seemed a bit... concerning, so I felt it worth asking now that other personal matters have calmed down and I have the time. Would anyone happen to know of his whereabouts?

[Private to Harold Saxon]
Mr. Saxon, if you wished to tender your resignation, you simply had to let me know. But if you're unwell and wish to retain your job, we can work with you and give you a leave of absence.

...I didn't know Mister Saxon worked for you.

Why yes, he's been with my company for quite some time now. Have you seen him recently?

[identity profile] der-freischuetz.livejournal.com 2010-03-14 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Now, that's interesting! And I've seen him recently, yes, I did.

Oh? I've been needing to discuss some important work matters with him, could you tell him to contact me?

What sort of research do you do?

And I think Mr. Saxon is quite sick, although I admit I haven't talked to him much since he returned.

My company delves into unlocking the City's mysteries. My focus has primarily been in studying the City Dead.

Have you had any direct contact with Mr. Saxon? Or was it just conversation over the network.

Sounds interesting. And considering I am one of the City Dead, maybe I'd be able to help. I'm quick to learn and great with organization; I also have experience with genetic science. Those mysteries you're looking into- would one of them be the Clock?

I only talked to him over the Network, unfortunately. I haven't seen him in person for quite awhile.

Why yes, the Clock is one of our current projects... but as for your other qualifications, I'm quite interested in speaking more at length with you about a position with us. Would you care to meet me at the lab and we can discuss the specifics?

Eh, the Master, you mean? I killed him, it's okay. Don't let it worry you.

[identity profile] favoritetraitor.livejournal.com 2010-03-15 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
... 'the Master'?

Oh come now, you don't honestly expect me to believe that. Even if it were true, he would have returned to work the next day.

[identity profile] old-lady-sukima.livejournal.com 2010-03-15 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. The Master. Dear Harry Saxon? It's absolutely true, I killed him. If he's in the habit of coming back to work after dying, however, maybe he's a zombie... that would explain the new hair and funny smell.

[identity profile] favoritetraitor.livejournal.com 2010-03-16 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Well, no matter. It wouldn't be the first time an employee of mine missed work due to their unexpected demise. But in Mr. Saxon's case, he's missed more time than I would have expected from such an occasion.

But I have to say that your claim seems to ring false... unless you make it a habit to confess to murder so openly over the network. You do realize that the police force in the city objects to such crimes...

Is the search going well?

[identity profile] favoritetraitor.livejournal.com 2010-03-15 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Why yes, Di Di. I think we may have found someone rather promising. Are you settling in well in the organization?

[identity profile] bufferprincess.livejournal.com 2010-03-15 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm really grateful for the opportunity.

[identity profile] favoritetraitor.livejournal.com 2010-03-15 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
I'm pleased to hear that things are going well. Please let me know if there's anything that you need, won't you?

What do you research?

[identity profile] favoritetraitor.livejournal.com 2010-03-16 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
My group studies the various mysteries of this City in the hopes that we can improve our situation.

That sounds extremely interesting and like a very worthy thing to investigate. Are you still looking for potential employees?

[identity profile] favoritetraitor.livejournal.com 2010-03-16 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. Might I ask what your field of interest is, Miss....? Ah, and allow me to introduce myself. I'm Solomon Goldsmith, one of the founders of ARTEMIS.

Not surprised he's one of your employees. He's still here though unfortunately his mental state isn't what you could consider competent at the moment.

A breakdown? That is rather unfortunate...

Has anyone taken steps to try to help him?

None that I'm aware of...

Any luck in hiring?

As a matter of fact, yes. There are a couple of very promising applicants...
