How insidious. I can only assume that was the result of yet another curse. An attempt to tarnish my reputation, or something random, who's to say? It wouldn't be the first time...

I certainly hope that anyone out there would have realized this of my last journal entry. Anyone who knows me well understands that I would never condone murder, let alone violence of any sort. I'm a healer and consummate businessman.

I apologize for any distress that my words would have caused to anyone. I cannot even begin to fathom what the deities' purpose for this one was, and it's abhorrent to me that even for one moment I would have thought violence was an acceptable means to an end.

But my deepest heartfelt thanks to those answered my call. The matter is out of our hands. Best to leave it as it is and to focus on our work.

I shall not forget such a show of support. Please accept this small token of my gratitude.

Message for Saya
Saya, I feel the need to go for a walk. I'd really appreciate your company... perhaps we can go to the gardens together for the afternoon. I'll find someone to cover me at the hospital.

The curses always make people say things they would mean the opposite of.

It's really quite frustrating. But if anything, such events make me more determined to find a way to stop the curses effects on us all.

I hope that you are doing alright, Miss Kurosu. No adverse effects from any curses lately?

That's a relief. Hopefully it will remain so.

Hm... You just gave me an idea of something else I should look into in my research. I wonder if there are signs that would indicate an impending cursed state. I haven't checked that yet...

How exciting! I'm grateful I spoke to you, otherwise I might not have thought to pursue this course of action.

I didn't do anything...

That would be helpful for here in the city though, if it could be accomplished. I know people have tried to do research into these kinds of things before. The more people looking...likely the better.

I beg to disagree. You were the muse to my inspiration.

And yes, for every person searching, there is a greater chance that someone will find a breakthrough that could change everything.

A chance to go home I think would be the most ideal.

Do you really think that will work?

Any time you need anything, please just ask.

I might not always be able to help, but if I can I would like to.

I appreciate that greatly, my friend. It's good to know who one can count on in times of distress. And of course, the same goes to you...

Odd. I don't remember a curse going around that day. Usually there are two or three days' reprieve between curses, and that seemed to be one of them.

To alter one's morals... You must have been the only one affected that I heard about.

Solomon couldn't care less.

I hadn't realized that you were an expert on curses, Mr. Wyndam-Peirce. Perhaps you'd be willing to come in and be interviewed on the topic for our research?

And in my experience, since I've been actively studying it for some time now... is that the closer I get to some truth, the more heavily I seem to be afflicted by them. It can't all be coincidence.

One doesn't need to be an expert to merely pay attention. As I said, you're the only one I've heard about, which I find odd. If it's what you claim, then so be it.

The deities do in fact tend to lash out when someone gets close to some kind of truth in regards to the clock or this dimension's role. You research the nature of this place, then?

Why yes. It was the reason I formed my organization. Between the curses that afflict us and take away our free will, to the way we all find ourselves trapped here... I couldn't sit by idly without trying to find a 'cure', so to speak.

The ARTEMIS Organization. Have you not seen our recruiting sessions? We have had the great fortune to have such talented brilliant minds in many various fields. With their work, I'm confident that we will find some way to free ourselves of the deities control.

No I haven't, but I've only been around for a few months and it's a big city.

It must be frustrating when the deities take what you know and toss it out the proverbial window.
