It seems that he and a few others have deemed themselves the law, and have hunted my friend Marishka because of a few frivolous statements she made on her journal.

I seek to rectify this situation.

I'd introduce myself, but it seems you already know who I am.

As for what you recall, I wasn't aware of any such law in this dimension. And I really couldn't care less. She was threatening to kill, and from what I hear, she's been doing it for months. The police weren't handling it, or perhaps they simply couldn't. So we handled it.

And believe me. It could have been much more severe for her.

She's not a person. She's a vampire, and she was making her intentions rather clear. I really doubt that anyone who likes to keep their blood in their body is going to knock on our door and complain for taking her off the street.

What to do with her? Well now that is the question, isn't it. I suppose we could just kill her, but that wouldn't be very beneficial in the long run. We could always find a spell to curse her with. Make her impotent.

Or we could hand her over to the authorities, if they see fit to handle her.

Why are you so keen on defending her? Being a doctor and all, I'd think your goal would be to help people. Not the demons that slaughter them.

Precisely. Will you need backup? I'm not sure what precautions should be taken at this point, or if anyone else is involved. Likewise, I'm unfamiliar with Mr. Wyndam-Pryce. So I haven't determined what we're dealing with as of yet.

For Marishka to have been taken, I advise against underestimating this situation. If it comes to action... take him down hard, and show no mercy.

I want my point to get through to any party concerned.

... "not a person"? ~~Where have I heard that before? Ah yes, the second world war about quite a different group...~~ Is it your intent to 'cleanse' the city of all that you deem are not 'people'?

Of course I wish to help people, regardless of their status. And seeing as how this City has such a diverse population, it serves all of our best interests to try to live together without fear of attack.

If I might make a suggestion that might appease us all... I think that I might be able to curb her appetites from the main populace using donated blood from the hospital. I believe that it's common procedure here...

She was going to attack people. While it would be a pleasant thought if everyone here could get along, such optimistic line of thought will only get more people hurt. This is no utopia.

He obviously did not read the Guide where it is clearly stated that vampires can hunt freely outside the City limits.

And as for her, she's made it very clear that it's the hunt she likes. I believe, in her words, she likes them to 'cry and beg'. So forgive me if I don't believe a bag of O positive is really is going to tickle her fancy right and proper.

If you're her keeper, then you should have been doing a better job. And if you've known this entire time that she's been taking lives, then you're just as guilty as she.

She's not going anywhere until I'm convinced that she can be entirely contained. So I'll speak to the authorities.

Contact the authorities? That would be interesting. Are you familiar with the bylaws on the City Guide concerning the vampire population and the rules surrounding their survival?

And by no means am I her 'keeper', although she does listen to me for some unknown reason I have yet to fathom.

I think perhaps the two of you just got off on the wrong foot, so to speak. There is a side of her that is pure innocence and sweetness. She's almost childlike in a way... ~~so endearing.~~

No, I'm not, though I personally think it's ridiculous to make it legal anywhere in the city for them to feed on people. If that's truly the case, then I have even more reason to contact the authorities.

If I'm breaking a law, I'd rather hear it from them than a doctor who's taken it upon himself to play Negotiator for mass murderers.

And it's obvious she's childlike, but I wouldn't say innocent. No one ever taught her how to speak properly while she was feeding on the lifeblood of humans? What a shame.

Yes, but only if it's the last option left. Because truth death is a rarity here, we unfortunately have to exercise caution instead of properly settling the matter.
