68th Devotion: Balancing Work with Family

Sweetheart, I'm afraid I had to run to the office for a little while. An emergency... if any of the family needs me, they can do so via the network.

Luke... I hope you liked your gift* and cooperated...

[Private to Marishka]
Please keep an eye on the girls. I caught Penny with a laundry basket full of ducklings last night.. (I did speak with her about this, so there's no need to mention it again). And Sun-Sun seems to be feeling a bit out of sorts. Perhaps you should talk to her...

Also, don't let Stork sleep all day. He needs to get out to apply for some jobs... or at the very least make himself useful around the house.

[ARTEMIS FILTER]
Mr. Xemnas... I'm afraid death is no longer a viable excuse to not show up to work. And while I'm perfectly willing to give you an extension in order to acclimate yourself to your new situation, I do expect you to at least contact me so we can discuss it.

On the rare chance that my second in command will be out for awhile or will not be regenerating as 'City Dead'... is there anyone in the Organization that would like to submit yourself as a possible replacement?

And does anyone know what he meant by: "Trinity was the breaker you sought for."? Those were his last words before he vanished...

*[ooc: A well intentioned father, Solomon hired Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin to go and give Luke a makeover. Mainly something more 'professional' like.. this. Solomon is still firmly entrenched in the 'Family Day curse'.]

... that's rather harsh.

Now, I agree that there's nothing really wrong with your choice in clothing. I've often thought that you have a strong sense of style... But won't you at least try something more... well, professional in hair styles?

I think your mother encouraged you too much to grow it long...

... It's just that the modern world judges these things on men a bit more strongly than they used to in your mother's day...

... you're so stubborn. I don't know who you got that from...

Honestly, Luke. I try to do something nice for you... the least you could do is to say 'thank you'.

No thank-you - satisfied, Daddy Dearest?

...... Charles would never...

Luke, you know I want what's best for you... are you really so determined to push us away? You rarely visit, you have little interest in being more active in the organization...

Did your mother and I do something wrong? Did we not provide the best for you and the others? Perhaps we spoiled you...
