I'm sorry to hear that, Mr. Wyndam-Pryce. And I had such high hopes that we could some to some amicable resolution.

Ah, Mr. Xemnas. Yes... one of my friends has been abducted by fanatical hunters. I'm afraid the negotiations for her release have broken down... such a pity. I do hate resorting to violence. But I can't tolerate the poor dear to remain in their hands.

You have skills that would be useful in such a situation? Back up is never a bad thing... my objective is to see to her safe return, but discretion is always a top priority. I don't wish for this to come back to ARTEMIS, or any of our reputations.

Mr. Xemnas is likewise offering his services. This might be advantageous.

Do you think we should have a member of the law on our side as well? This is a clear case of kidnapping... I'd rather we were the ones to wear 'white' in this situation...

Mr. Kincaid will be heading this venture... would you mind contacting him to see what the plan is? Unfortunately, I can't have my name brought any further into this than it already has been... otherwise all our other plans will fall asunder.

That may not be much, depending on the abilities of said vampire. And for that matter, whether or not they resisted when he came to capture her.

My thoughts precisely. Fanaticism such as he's exhibiting are a danger to us all. I've seen it happen first hand.

I know that the two of you have had your differences, my friend. But I've seen no evidence to support the fact that she's a danger. Perhaps she's changed from what you remember back in your world...

Solomon. I know you're an intelligent individual and perfectly capable of behaving in a rational manner.

Marishka hunts. Not only does she kill, but she enjoys killing; it has little enough to do with the fact that she needs blood to survive. If she were human and prone to 'playing games' in which slaughtering innocents was the objective, I would consider her just as dangerous.

They're not going about it right, though. I told them as much last night. Holding Marishka in captivity will only increase her desire to kill, and the City hardly needs that.

Honestly, I don't know what to say to any of you.

No, I'm listening, Carl. And I appreciate you taking the time to talk to me about it.

I do so despise violence. I wish to come to a peaceful resolution concerning this situation... there was no need for it to blow up the way it did.

I'd had a thought that since Marishka seems to listen to me, perhaps I can convince her to change her methods of survival. Of course, it would mean taking a type of guardianship of her, but it might be the only way to ensure that everyone is safe.

If you need anything further, please don't hesitate to let me know. I would suggest taking her back out of the City limits, perhaps to Luke's after she's free, unless you can think of somewhere safer.

I'll meet you there when the objective has been achieved.

You're not alone in the need to distance. Due to what I am ~~and having certain connections~~, taking an obvious role in this matter would definitely cause problems in the near future.

My participation will have to be done anonymously.

I'm not entirely sure there can be a peaceful resolution, unless the City's authorities intervene. From what I know of the situation, these hunters and Marishka arranged a fight of some sort. She's not going to be terribly happy with them if she's freed, and the hunters seem nearly as set in their ways as the ones I worked with--that is, they won't free her if they suspect she's a threat.

How well does Marishka listen to you? I don't know how much you know about vampire hierarchy, but they tend to possess an unwavering obedience to their master (who is generally their maker). If you were able to assume the master role...

I don't know if it's possible, of course, but it seems to be the only possible resolution.

She must stop killing, you realize. While I don't believe she should be caged, I also don't believe she should be allowed to continue feeding on civilians.
