Yes, it really is. The ailment continues to mutate even as I work on it. I'd thought to slow its progression using a special pharmaceutical of my creation but it's proving less effective than I'd hoped.

Still, I'm hopeful that despite the slow progress, we do stand a chance of isolating the source of this infection.
